Sofitel Cairo Nile El Gezirah

Magic view, great restaurant, good conditions.

The staff of the hotel are welcoming friendly and very helpful. the hotel location is great with great view of the nile and cairo. we had a high level room with balcony overlooking the nile, and with view of the pyramids. the room is comfortable and clean. the breakfast was superb and the staff in le Sud restaurant are extremely helpful and joyful. food in the La Palmeraie Resturant was superb, great taste, good quantity and very filling.

The service at check-in was very helpful as I only had a picture of my passport and not an original or a copy. Sara, from Guest Relations stepped in to help. Sara was amazing during our stay! She took us up to our room, told us about the facilities and spa and left. We saw her shortly after and she asked how we were. I explained I could not get a spa appointment until after 2:00pm the following day. This was a big disappointment for me but what could I do. Sara said she would see what she could do. She later phoned and said she got us a 4:00pm check-out. Sara then had the spa phone me and low and behold, I had an appointment for my requested time. We told no one at the hotel that it was my birthday, but upon check-out we run into Sara once again. She was disappointed we were checking out before 4:00 as she had arranged a birthday cake for me! We told no one at the hotel I was celebrating my birthday. We've always enjoyed the Sofitel, but Sara in Guest Relations, made our stay fine to fabulous!

Luxurious hotel right on the Nile. Easy access to so many places in Cairo and surroundings. The staff were excellent and did go out of their way to make one feel at home. The rooms were large with a lovely view of the Nile. The Spa is well managed with many options for treatment or to just relax in the sauna, steam room or the jacuzzi. Even the outdoor pool was heated. What we appreciated the most was the amazing spread at breakfast with a choice of Western and local cuisine topped of with beautiful free sparkling wine. Our favourite spot was the little pub right on the water’s edge where we watched the sun set every evening with a cold beer and the water fountain light show after a long day of exploring.
